Board Member – Medical Infrared Imaging scottm@iact-thermography.org
Dr. Scott Miles was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated in the first graduating class from Perry Meridian High School in 1975. He received his B.A. degree from University of Indianapolis in 1979 with majors in Chemistry and Biology, and a minor in mathematics. In 1984, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/ The Chicago Medical School, receiving the OB/Gyn clerkship award for the highest grade in his class for this clinical rotation. Dr. Miles completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Cook County Hospital, Chicago Illinois, graduating in 1988. He passed board written and oral exams and was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1990 and was recertified in 2000. Dr. Miles has been in private practice on Indianapolis’ Southside for 20 years. His practice has been limited to Gynecology only since July 1, 2002. His other certifications include: Diplomate of The American Board of Clinical Sexology (Treatment of Sexual Dysfunction), Certified Thermology Technician (IACT), Designated Senior Aviation Medical Examiner (Federal Aviation Administration), Designated FAA Safety Team member. Current professional memberships include: Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Institute for Functional Medicine, American College for the Advancement of Medicine, Indiana State Medical Association, and The Indianapolis Medical Society. Doctor Miles is fluent in both English and Spanish. Dr. Miles has always been interested in alternatives to traditional medicine believing that approaches that integrate the best of all disciplines will ultimately benefit the patient the most. As such, He and the late Dr. Larry Davis pioneered “The Center for Sexual Medicine” in Indianapolis Indiana in 2004, the first integrated center of its kind in the state. Thereafter, he became deeply involved in natural and integrative approaches in women’s healthcare. He now practices a “functional medicine” approach in balancing hormones including the Thyroid, Adrenal, Ovary and Gut issues. In early 2008, he founded “Miles Ahead Health and Wellness, LLC” a company dedicated to managing hormone and wellness issues in both men and women, providing Digital Infrared Thermographic imaging of the breast and whole body, and providing IV nutrition and high dose IV Vitamin C therapy for the treatment of cancer. Chelation therapy for heavy metal toxicity is on the horizon.
